Simmer sauce

I love Indian food and I am always on the look out for simmer sauces or recipes to make my own. I have written about this specific simmer sauce from Traders.  The other day we were in the mood for Indian food and were at Target, so I decided to wander down the "ethnic" food aisle to find some sort of simmer sauce to make an easy dinner. Enter this little guy:

The directions are pretty simple. It calls for meat and sauce-how easy is that?  Well, I added veggies because I didn't want just meat.  So, we added red, yellow, orange bell peppers, some yellow onions and just some mushrooms. Sounds pretty tasty & filling right?

Well, I am here to tell you that this sauce tasted like cheap tomato sauce..it was not good!!  Plain & simple, it was NOT something I would recommend and probably could have made my own sauce ten times better than this money waster. It was a little too sweet and really had no flavor, I always expect Indian food {especially the sauces} to burst with flavor & spice.  Not so much!!

So, tell me do you have a favorite simmer sauce? Do share!!

Have a foodilicous day!!

No where else I would rather be....

Happy Monday!!! It was a busy weekend for me. I had so many things on my plate and I just realized, I haven't been on pinterest all weekend long..that's bananas!!  I can't believe I didn't get a chance, not even a minute to visit one of my favorite places. I will usually visit pinterest at least once or twice a day, I love getting lost in its inspiration and prettiness!! It's like I would rather be no where else.  Having said that, I am in a desperate need of an inspiration Monday-Perfect timing!!
